Bill Cala Visits Fairport

During the Month of the Young Child, our community is inviting elected officials and community leaders into child care centers to read to the children and experience first hand how we prepare young children for future success. These most valuable years are enhanced by ensuring these programs remain a a strong, thriving part of our communities. Bill Cala, interim Superintendent of Fairport schools visited our Fairport location and read the book “Ish” by Peter Reynolds to our Preschool and PreK classes. Mr. Cala did much more than just read, he is a master at engaging the children and making the part of the experience! Our children, staff and families truly appreciate his time and enjoyed welcoming him.

Bill Cala and his wife Joanne are also the founders of Joining Hearts and Hands which is a not for profit organization that raises money to promote improved educational, health and economic conditions for African orphans and their communities by building schools, sponsoring health clinics, providing secondary scholarships, and nurturing sustainable development initiatives – all to promote dignity, opportunity and hope. Generations is proud to have been participating in fundraising efforts for this organization for over 7 years.
