Early Care and Education

Generations offers a variety of child care programs to meet the needs of today's families at all of its program centers. Please call our office to obtain references from other parents. We will be happy to provide you with contact information.

Infants

Many new parents are apprehensive about leaving there infant in a child care classroom. At Generations, we look at infant care as an extension of your family. We seek to partner with families to ensure all infant care is as seamless as possible to what parents provide.

Parents may be worried about feeding and napping routines. We want to duplicate home routines as much as possible. Parents provide information at enrollment and update as often as is necessary to be sure the center has the most current information. Infant feeding is an individual experience so each child gets one-on-one attention and care.

Sleep routines are followed according to parent instructions, ensuring all young infants sleep as needed. Generations’ trained infant staff pay careful attention to health and safety concerns and each infant’s development.

Each month, Lead Teachers document each infant’s development and plans activities to advance each child’s growth in five developmental areas. The toys and equipment in infant classrooms is specially selected to engage and stimulate infants.

Above all, infant staff will be available to talk with parents to share information and plan for care. Most centers have two infant classrooms where we are able to "graduate" the mobile infants to a room where they are free to climb and run without fear of running into the younger babies.

Toddlers

Communication and expression really begin to grow and develop at this age. Here we use art, music, sensory and cognitive experiences inside and outside the classroom.

We balance the day with small group activities and opportunities for children to explore and make choices on their own. Theme based activity planning ensures a well rounded curriculum to help toddlers grow and develop. The toddler program focuses on play in key interest areas that encourage language social and cognitive development while encouraging motor skill development.

Caregivers will be on the floor interacting in interest areas with toddlers extending their play, encouraging the use of new words and building social skills. More challenging activities and materials will be introduced throughout the toddler years to encourage development. Parents will be please to have daily communication with teachers working with their toddlers daily.
